Propane Inspections
The regulations that govern the delivery of propane and furnace oil demand that before any tanks can be filled with furnace oil or propane that the complete system pass a stringent inspection.
This inspection is typically good for 10 years. This inspection checks to see if the storage container, all fuel burning appliances, appliance piping and appliance venting is installed to applicable codes, is in good condition, and is safe to operate. These inspections are also necessary on fuel burning systems when there is a change of ownership, or when a homeowner makes change in their fuel supplier. For long time customers, this inspection has probably taken place unbeknownst to you, while our service people were at your residence providing maintenance. In some instances where the installation took place well prior to present regulations, the absence of a proper inspection on file will prompt a notice of delivery interruption.
If Bryan’s Fuel is installing your equipment, or if Bryan’s covers the customer’s equipment with a service contract, we will provide the inspection free of charge.
Otherwise customers who require inspections will have to pay a nominal fee to cover the cost of providing an employee with the appropriate certificate to perform the inspection.
Insurance companies may request copies of these inspections from homeowners for gauging liability risks. We will only forward inspections to insurance companies when the homeowner has directly instructed us to do so.
We will not provide inspections for customers who purchase fuel from companies other than our own.
